A WEEKEND IN REGENSBURG

Hello my beautiful friends,

last weekend I’ve spent two amazing days in Regensburg, Germany. If you’re following me on instagram you’ve probably seen and already read a small bit about Regensburg.

I consider Regensburg being my “third home”, my first one being Prague and second one the city I’m living now in Germany. I was born in Prague and before I started studying “international retail” in Ingolstadt, I’ve been there at least once a month. Now that I’m very busy with my studies, my job and blogging, I’m having a hard time getting there to visit my family and friends or to simply just walk through the city and enjoy its atmosphere.

I’ve always enjoyed going there. Regensburg has such an remarkable culture, amazing people and a unique atmosphere shaped by its historical architecture. It’s very similar to Prague in many ways. This is why I love going there so much.

Besides of meeting friends, drinking amazing coffee and enjoying a night out in the clubs, I love revisiting the sights any time I’m in Regensburg. For example I went to Regensburgs cathedral which reminds me a lot of the St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague.

After heading to the “Regensburger Dom”, I continued my little sightseeing part by heading to the stone bridge, which has indeed some similarities to the Charles bridge. I really enjoy sitting at the river Donau and watching students having fun, listening and making music and generally having a good time. It’s a very popular spot for young people.

Regensburgs old town has many shops which are connected through little narrow alleys. It creates a romantic atmosphere during these hectic shopping trip. I actually prefer it over the “Arcaden” – a huge shopping mall. I went to Zara, H&M, Mango and many more. If you want to go shopping in a beautiful historical city, definitely check out Regensburg – one of my favorite cities!

After lots of shopping we decided it was time for dinner. At first we couldn’t figure out where to go because Regensburg has way to many restaurants and cafes. But we somehow always end up in “Alex” which is located in the old towns center. I love sitting outside, enjoying the atmosphere, the people, bands who play music and watching the beautiful sunset while eating my chicken salat (which is a must if you’re in an Alex restaurant!)

Later, after we finished eating, the sun went down and people slowly started to spread out into little bars and fancy night clubs, I went on a little walk to find the perfect little bar which happened to be a quite big Spanish restaurant and bar with live music and amazing tapas called Bodega.  We’ve spent the rest of our evening over there. I had a really amazing time over there.

I hope I caught at least someones interest into going to Regensburg and if you’ll go there someday or if you’ve already been there I hope you enjoyed it at least as much as I did!

Enjoy a few pictures to get a little bit of Regensburgs beautiful atmosphere.
